BP and its key partners in Azerbaijan's giant Shah Deniz field have joined the Trans- Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) company set up to improve the EU's energy security by transporting the first Caspian gas into the European market in 2019, TAP announced on Tuesday. BP and Azeri state energy company Socar have exercised their options to take 20% each, while France's Total will take 10%. In addition, Belgium's Fluxys, a major gas transit operator in Europe, will acquire 16% of TAP, which is based in Baar, Switzerland.
