Kazmunaigas Exploration Production (KMG EP), the London - listed arm of Kazakh state oil company Kazmunaigas, has reported a 68% year - on - year drop in net earnings to 38.8 billion tenge ($257 million) for the first six months of 2013. Profits were hit by a 50% rise in crude export duty from $40 per metric ton to $60 per ton ($8.19/bbl) as of April, KMG EP said Wednesday in a statement accompanying its consolidated results ( IOD Apr.5'13 ).
