Russia crude exports outside the former Soviet Union countries rose 1.5% year-onyear in April to 4.55 million barrels per day (18.6 million metric tons) as higher shipments bypassed the system of national pipeline operator Transneft, which itself showed a minor 0.4% decline in export volumes. Shipments bypassing Transneft's network stood at 511,500 b/d, up a heavy 26% on the year. Rising exports of gas condensate shipped by top independent gas producer Novatek via the Vitino outlet on the White Sea as well as higher shipments from the Arctic Varandei offshore terminal from top independent crude producer Lukoil were the main reasons behind the increase.
