Italy's Edison is in talks with US-based Noble Energy and Israel's Delek Group over buying two Israeli gas fields (IOD Jan.3'14). Edison did not respond to inquires by International Oil Daily. Noble and Delek have been obliged to sell all of their holdings in the Tanin gas reservoir in the Alon A/364 permit and in Karish in the Alon C/366 license. A survey has to be completed first before the purchase is made, Reuters reports. If finalized, the deal will see Edison with a total of five permits in waters offshore Israel. The Italian firm signed a deal with Israel's Ratio Oil back in June for the Neta and Roy permits which are located southwest of the Rachel and Amit concessions, where the 18.9 Tcf Leviathan gas find was made. Ratio is a minority shareholder in Leviathan (IOD Jun.18'13).
