Yamal LNG has agreed to a deal with European terminal operator Fluxys that will see ship-to-ship (STS) transfers of LNG take place at Belgium's Zeebrugge regasification facility from 2017. The first deal of its kind, it will allow Yamal, a $27 billion Arctic liquefaction project, to offload volumes of the super-chilled gas from iceclass LNG carriers to conventional ones for shipment to the world's markets (IOD Jan.30'14).
