Royal Dutch Shell said it will slash 20% of its workforce in Malaysia, or about 1,300 employees, over the next two years as part of its efforts to streamline its upstream division in response to low oil prices. "Shell Malaysia is preparing itself to be more competitive in a low oil price environment," said Iain Lo, chairman of Shell's Malaysian subsidiary. "Continuing business as usual is not sustainable."
