Woodside Petroleum said Monday its share of the cost increase at Wheatstone LNG will be less than 8%, after operator Chevron reported a $5 billion (A$6.6 billion) cost blowout at the project, which is currently under construction in Western Australia. The US major on Friday announced that the price tag for the development will rise 17% to $34 billion after it underestimated the number of parts needed for the project and equipment delivery was delayed (OD Oct.31'16).
