The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) confirmed Monday its export terminal near the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk has received first crude piped from Kazakhstan's offshore Kashagan field. CPC said shipments from Kashagan are currently at around 10,000 tons per day (73,300 b/d) but should rise steadily. This year, some 1 million tons (7.33 million bbl) of Kashagan crude is to be shipped via the 1,510 km CPC pipeline, while next year's volumes are set to skyrocket to 12 million tons (241,000 b/d).
