State-owned Petrobras has finished drilling the first appraisal well on the deepwater Barra discovery in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin offshore Brazil. The appraisal well 3-SES-165 (also called Barra 1) lies around 100km from the municipality of Aracaju off the coast of the State of Sergipe. Barra 1 has a water depth of 7,983ft (2,433m) and lies around 10km southeast of the wildcat well 1-SES-158 (Barra).
