In the paper “El Nino stills winter winds across the southern Canadian Prairies” by Scott St. George and Stephen A. Wolfe (Geophysical Research Letters, 36, L23806, doi:10.1029/2009GL041282), the original text (paragraph 7, line 4) stated incorrectly that the regional mean near-surface wind speed (u) record for the southern Canadian Prairies declined by —0.005 m s~(-1) a~(-1) between 1953 and 2006. The actual rate of decline in regional u over that period is —0.009 m s~(-1) a~(-1). Table SI of the auxiliary material has also been corrected.'
