This article presents, for the first time to our knowledge, an all-fiber amplifier similariton laser based on a fiber Bragg grating filter. The laser emits 2.9 nJ pulses at a wavelength of 1554 nm with a repetition rate of 31 MHz. The dechirped pulses have a duration of 89 fs. The characteristic features of the pulse profile and spectrum along with the dynamics of the laser are highlighted in representative simulations. These simulations also address the effect of the filter shape and detuning with respect to the gain spectral peak. (C) 2015 Optical Society of America
