Manila-JG Summit Olefins Corp. will this month begin construction on its delayed naphtha cracker in Batangas, the Philippines, reported the Manila Bulletin.The Philippine Board of Investments (Bol), having identified the cracker as a "pioneer project," recently approved incentives for the 925,537-t/y facility, which will produce ethylene, propylene, py-gas and other by-products (PCN, 3 Jan 2011, p 4). Those incentives include a six-year holiday on income taxes and duty-free imports of equipment.
