Budvonnovsk— Lukoil has made a decision to go ahead with the first phase of a gas chemical facility in Budyonnovsk, Stavropol Territory (PCN, 15 June 09, p 1). Phase one involves a gas processing plant with a capacity of 2-billion cubic meters (cu m) per year using associated petroleum gas from fields developed by Lukoil in the Caspian Sea. During this phase, an existing ethylene plant will be upgraded and converted to process liquefied gases. Commissioning of this phase is scheduled for 20.15.
