Dallas-Celanese said it expects to begin producing industrial ethanol in China by mid-2013, earlier than previously expected (PCN, 31 Jan 2011, p 2).The company earlier this year signed letters of intent to build and operate greenfield ethanol plants at the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park and at the Gaolan Port Economic Zone in Zhuhai. Each plant will have an initial capacity of 400,000 t/y and will cost about $300-million.
