Vancouver-Bruce Aitken has advised Methanex's board of directors of his intention to retire from his post of president and chief executive of the company, but continue as a member of the board. Aitken has held the position since 2004. John Floren has been appointed to succeed Aitken, effective 1 Jan. 2013. Floren, who joined Methanex in 2000, has been senior vice president for the company's Global Marketing & Logistics business for the past seven years.
