Kuantan-BP has agreed to sell its 100% interest in Malaysian purified terephthalic acid (PTA) producer BP Chemicals (Malaysia) Sdn (BPCM) to Reliance Global Holdings for $230-million in cash. The sale is expected to be finalized this year. BPCM operates a PTA plant in Kuantan with a name-plate capacity of 610,000 t/y. All current BPCM staff are expected to transfer to the new owners.
