Essen—Evonik Industries has signed an agreement to sell its carbon black business to Rhone Capital LLC in a transaction valued at more than ?900-million (PCN, 27 Sept 2010, p 2). "We are putting the business in good hands," said Klaus Engle, chairman of Evonik's executive board. "The transaction is good for Evonik, the future of the carbon black business and its employees. At the same time, this represents another major step toward a more clear-cut profile for Evonik as a leading specialty chemicals company when it goes public," he added.
