Onne—Mitsubishi Corp. and Notore Chemical Industries Ltd. have signed a joint venture agreement to develop an ammonia, urea and petrochemicals project at Notore's existing site in Onne, Rivers State, Nigeria. Notore, the only urea producer in sub-Saharan Africa, said the project involves construction of a complex to produce 1,700 t/d of ammonia, 3,000 t/d of urea and 1,500 t/d of "other petrochemicals."
