Atlanta—Geor- gia Gulf Corp.'s board of directors has rejected a 13 Jan. unsolicited proposal from Westlake Chemical Corp. to acquire Georgia Gulf for $30.00 per share. Westlake, in announcing its acquisition proposal, said the combination of the two companies "would create one of the leading North American olefins, vinyls and building products producers," and "would enable Westlake to become a leading polyvinyl chloride resins producer and vinyl-based building products supplier."
