Jubail-Al Waha Petrochemicals Co. has completed routine maintenance, during which the performance of its propane dehy-drogenation (PDH) unit was enhanced, and has resumed production of propylene and polypropylene (PP) at its Jubail, Saudi Arabia, complex (PCN, 11 June 2012, p 1). Al Waha, an affiliate of Sahara Petrochemicals Co., has 467,000 t/y of propylene and 450,000 t/y of PP capacity at the Jubail complex. The company explained that the PP plant had been "in line with the required criteria," whereas the PDH unit had been performing at only about 73% of its design capacity.
