Houston-M&G Group has signed a license agreement with Alpek for the use of the IntegRex purified terephthalic acid (PTA) technology for a PTA and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) project being built by M&G in Corpus Christi, Texas (PCN, 21 Jan 2013, p 1). M&G earlier this year awarded Sinopec Engineering Group the engineering, procurement and construction contract for a project to produce 1.2-million t/y of PTA and 1-million t/y of PET in Corpus Christi. Both plants are expected to begin production in 2016.
