Camacari- Braskem, as part of its strategy to increase the value of its cracker streams, has started construction of a pipeline that will supply propylene to BASF's acrylic complex in Camacari, Bahia, Brazil (PCN, 22-29 Aug 2011, p 1). BASF, which is spending in excess of ?500-million to build a complex to produce acrylic acid, butyl acrylate and superabsorbent polymers, said it selected Camacari for the project because of the availability of propylene feedstock and utilities provided by Braskem.
