Singapore-Shell Chemicals said it has taken a final investment decision to build new ethylene oxide (EO) and ethoxylation units on Jurong Island, Singapore. The project includes a high-purity EO purification column with an initial capacity of 140,000 t/y and two ethoxylation units with a combined capacity of 140,000 t/y, increasing Shell's capacities to 205,000 t/y of high-purity EO and 180,000 t/y of ethoxylates.
