Changshu—Solvay and Shanghai 3F New Material Co. (SH3F) have agreed to establish a joint venture for the production of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, China. SH3F will hold an 80% interest in the venture, with Solvay holding 20%. SH3F will contribute its TFE and PTFE production facility, currently under construction, and will be responsible for operation of the venture's production. Solvay will make a cash contribution to the venture and will license its proprietary PTFE technology.
