Triunfo— Elekeiroz, which is not currently involved in the styrene sector, and Videolar, one of Brazil's largest styrene producers, are the final contenders for the acquisition of Petrobras' Innova styrene unit, reported Valor Economico. Innova, based in Triunfo, Brazil, has the capacity to produce 250,000 t/y of styrene, 155,000 t/y of polystyrene and 540,000 t/y of ethylbenzene. The sale, announced last year and valued at about $400-million, has been delayed by the high cost of ethylene and benzene feedstock in Brazil.
