Geleen—Lanxess has successfully converted its Keltan brand ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) production line in Geleen, The Netherlands, to the use of the company's "innovative" ACE technology (PCN, 3 Oct 2011, p 4). Lanxess said it invested about ?12-million to convert the 95,000-t/y EPDM unit from the conventional Ziegler-Natta chemistry to its ACE process. The Geleen plant is "the world's largest EPDM plant," having a capacity of 180,000 t/y, Lanxess added.
