Kemi—Forest BtL Oy has awarded Technip a contract valued at approximately ?5-million for the front-end engineering and design of a new second generation biomass-to-liquid plant to be built on Ajos Island, Finland (PCN, 18 Feb 2013, p 3). The project, scheduled for completion in early 2014, will convert sustainable forest residue into about 3,700 b/d of naphtha and biodiesel.
