Wuhai City— Hongye International Investment Group is building a 600,000-t/y glycol plant in China and has signed a memorandum of understanding with Synthesis Energy Systems for the supply of technology and equipment for the facility. The RMB 9.5-billion project, to be located in the Qianlishan Industrial Zone in Wuhai City, Inner Mongolia, will be in a region of strategic importance and the center for the development of China's growing coal-to-chemicals industry, SES explained. Hongye has already received pre-approval from the region's Development and Reform Commission and is currently seeking further required approvals to advance the project.
