Tokyo-Mitsubishi Rayon Co. (MRC) and Daicel have formed a joint venture to operate Toyama Filter Tow Co., which was established in October 2012 as a spin-off of MRC's acetate tow business. Daicel has acquired a 35% interest in Toyama Filter Tow, and will supply cellulose acetate feedstock for the joint venture's production in Toyama, Japan. MRC will retain a 65% interest and both companies will be supplied with the plant's output.
