Tokyo—Nippon Shokubai has been granted a new "lift of restrictions," allowing it to resume operation of another acrylic acid unit at its Himeji complex in Japan (PCN, 8 July 2013, p 2). Last September, two explosions at the Himeji site forced Nippon Shokubai to halt production of acrylic acid and superabsorbent polymers.
