Marl—Evonik Industries has begun operations at a new plant for the production of functionalized polybutadienes in Marl, Germany (PCN, 6 Jan 2014, p 3). The new hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene plant, with an annual capacity of "several thousand metric tons," is an investment in customer proximity and sustainability, Evonik said, adding that it invested "a mid-double-digit million euro amount" in the unit.
