Shanghai-BASF and Sinopec have established BASF MPCC Co. Ltd. as an equally-owned isononanol (INA) joint venture and have broken ground on a "first of its kind" INA plant in China (PCN, 28 Jan 2013, p 4). The "world-scale" INA plant, for which capacity was not given, is being built in Maoming Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone. It is scheduled to come on stream in 2015 to serve the increasing demand for next-generation plasticiz-ers, BASF said.
