Wichita— Invista has signed an exclusive long-term agreement with the Petrochemical Conversion Co. (PCC) joint venture to purchase and market nylon 6,6 engineering resin produced at PCC's production facility currently under construction in Jubail, Saudi Arabia (PCN, 8 Aug 2011, p 2). PCC, a joint venture of Saudi Industrial Investment Group and Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical Co., expects to produce up to 50,000 t/y of nylon 6,6 resin starting in late 2013 or early 2014. Other than nylon 6,6 sold by PCC in Saudi Arabia, the production will be marketed under Invista's Torzen engineering polymers brand.
