Moscow—Sibur's Polief subsidiary has completed an expansion of its polyethylene terephthalate (PET) capacity in Blagoveshchensk, Republic of Bashkortostan, to 210,000 t/y from 140,000 t/y (PCN, 8 Oct 2012, p 1). The 1.9-billion ruble project involved modernizing Polief s existing production lines and construction of a hew PET line. Guarantee tests on both the upgraded and new PET lines have been conducted with technology licensors UOP and Bio Chemtex.
