Taixing—Arkema and Jurong Chemical, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Sunvic Chemicals, have established Sunke as a joint venture for the production of acrylic acid in Taixing, China. Arkema said the venture is comprised of the assets of Jurong's Taixing acrylic acid production site, which opened in 2012. "Production capacity for Arkema initially will be 160,000 t/y for a $240-million investment, with the option to raise it without delay to 320,000 t/y for a further $235-million investment," the company explained.
