Adana—Indorama Ventures has completed the acquisition of 100% of La Seda de Barcelona's Artenius Turkpet subsidiary, a producer of 130,000 t/y of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin, based in Adana, Turkey (PCN, 24 Feb 2014, p 2). The acquisition follows Indorama's recent announcement of a binding agreement to acquire 51% of SASA Polyester Sanayi, a leading Turkish PET and polyester producer, which is located adjacent to Artenius Turkpet (PCN, 14-21 Apr 2014, p 1). SASA has production facilities for PET, polybutylene terephthalate polymers, dimethyl terephthalate, staple fibers, filament yarns and specialty chemicals with a combined capacity of 600,000 t/y.
