Essen— Evonik Industries' expanded C4 facilities at the Marl Chemical Park in Germany, and in Antwerp, Belgium, have come on stream (PCN, 21 Jan 2013, p 3). In 2013, the company announced it was adding 75,000 t./y of 1-butene capacity in Marl, making it the "top provider" of 1-butene worldwide with a total capacity of 310,000 t/y, and expanding butadiene production capacity in Antwerp by 100,000 t/y.
