Gastonia—Lanxess is investing about $15-million to expand its production capacity for high-tech plastics at its Gastonia, N.C., site. In 2012, the company started production of polyamide and polybutylene terephthalate in Gastonia, noting the plant was its first U.S. production facility for premium, lightweight products (PCN, 24 Sept 2012, p 4).
