Mumbai— Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (BPCL) has received Environment Ministry approval to proceed with plans for an expansion project at BPCL's Kochi refinery to produce "niche" petrochemicals that are predominately being imported, according to the Press Trust of India. The Rs 4,588 crore project envisions the production of acrylic acid, acrylates and oxo alcohols, with production expected to begin during fiscal 2018-2019 (PCN, 8 Dec 2014, p1).
