Xinjians— China XLX Fertiliser Ltd. has started up its new 520,000-t/y coal-based urea facility in Xinjiang, China, bringing the group's total urea capacity to 2.6-million t/y. The unit, referred to as Plant V, utilizes advanced coal gasification technologies that the company successfully used in Plant IV. "This will effectively save production cost and improve overall operation efficiency," China XLX said. Cost of the project was not given.
