Tokyo-—Mitsui & Co. has contracted the eighth ship for the delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Cameron LNG export project to its customers in Japan (PCN, 2 Feb 2015, p 4). The 178,000 cu m LNG carrier is on a 25-year maximum time charter from Imabari Shipbuilding Co.'s shipyard. Time charter parties were also concluded for five carriers on 26 Sept. 2014 and for two carriers on 29 Jan. 2015. Mitsui earlier said it would procure eight LNG ships in total for the export project.
