Monterrey— Alpek, in announcing its third quarter 2015 results, disclosed it has initiated an expandable polystyrene (EPS) capacity expansion in Mexico and signed an agreement to acquire BASF's EPS plant in Chile. The expansion project will increase EPS capacity at its Altamira site by 75,000 t/y. The project is due to come online before the end of 2017.
