The Woodlands- Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. has completed the previously announced sale of its Ryton polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) business to Solvay's Specialty Polymers business unit for $220-million (PCN, 8 Sept 2014, p 1). The sale included two Ryton PPS units in Borger, Texas, a pilot plant and the PPS research and development assets in Bartlesville, Okla., a compounding facility in Kallo-Beveren, Belgium, and certain intellectual property relating to the Ryton PPS business.
