Jakarta— BP has completed the purchase of all interests in a purified terephthalic acid (PTA) joint venture previously held by Mitsui Chemicals and Mitsui & Co. (PCN, 6 Jan 2014, p 4). The PTA joint venture, PT Amoco Mitsui PTA Indonesia (AMI), located in Jakarta, Indonesia, is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of the BP Group. AMI has 525,000 t/y of PTA capacity at its production site in Merak, Cilegon, Indonesia.
