Shanghai— Shanghai Golden Phillips Petrochemical, a joint venture owned 60% by Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical and 40% by Chevron Phillips Chemical, is reported to have shut down a 135,000-t/y high-density polyethylene plant in Jin-shanwei, Shanghai, China. A Chevron Phillips Chemical spokeswoman declined to confirm or deny the report, saying: "As a matter of policy, we do not publicly comment on operations at our facilities."
