Haldia—Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd. (HPL) has commissioned the captive power plant at its petrochemical complex in Haldia, India, as part of pre-start up activities for resuming petrochemical production there, reported the Press Trust of India. The petrochemical complex, idled since July 2014, includes a 700,000-t/y naphtha cracker, a 260,000-t/y linear low- and high-density polyethylene plant, a 300,000-t/y high-density polyethylene plant and a 300,000-t/y polypropylene unit (PCN, 12 Jan 2015, p 3).
