Singapore— Celanese has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) contract to Jacobs Engineering for a new vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) emulsions production plant being built by Celanese at Jurong Island, Singapore (PCN, 4 May 2015, p 2). Under the terms of the contract, for which a value was not disclosed, Jacobs will be responsible for the detailed engineering and design of the project, as well as major equipment and management of construction services. Production is scheduled to begin by mid-2016. Capacity was not given.
