Minneapolis— BioAmber has completed the first two phases of the U.S. Dept. of Energy's (DOE) loan guarantee process for a $360-million loan guarantee to help fund BioAmber's proposed renewable chemicals manufacturing plant in the U.S. The new plant will have a production capacity of 70,000-t/y of bio-based 1,4 butanediol (BDO), 24,000-t/y of bio-based tetrahydrofuran (THF) and 60,000 t/y of bio-based succinic acid. A location and project schedule were not given.
