Silsbee—Anellotech recently began commissioning activities at its TCat-8 unit in Silsbee, Texas, which was built to develop and test its Bio-TCat technology to produce bio-based aromatics from non-food sources (PCN, 18 July 2016, p 2). The TCat-8 unit, located at South Hampton Resources' site, was designed to confirm the viability and suitability of the Bio-TCat process for scale-up, and generate the data needed to design commercial plants, planned for the end of this decade.
