Brussels— Cefic, the European chemical industry council, said it welcomes the European Commission's (EC) proposal on a new methodology to tackle dumped or subsidized imports into the European Union (PCN, 14 Nov 2016, p 4). The EC's new method calculates dumping on imports from countries where there are significant market distortions, or where the state has a "pervasive" influence on the economy, The EC explained.
